“The Other Guys” and “Eat, Pray, Love”

I love to see a good movie and “Eat, Pray, Love” was one of them. “The Other Guys,” was done in true Will Ferrell style. I read the book “Eat, Pray, Love” and thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end.  Throughout my read, I came to understand and appreciate the journey Liz Gilbert took in finding herself. I could relate to it in many ways. The movie was a great representation of the movie but I always find it hard to enjoy a movie after reading the book it was based on because you miss so much of the back story due to the time constraint. I have to admit that I enjoyed the film version of “Eat, Pray, Love” much more than I did when I watched “Charlie St. Cloud.” I wish I could put into words why one was better than the other to me but I just can’t find the right combination.  With “Eat, Pray, Love” the attendance was mostly middle aged women and maybe 6 men in an audience of close to 30-35 people total. I give it 5 out of 5 paws.

“The Other Guys” was one of those goofy Will Ferrell movies. I’m not so sure of the real reason for making this one other than for Will Ferrell to be on film. Not much depth if any at all and I think only teens and those in their early 20’s could appreciate this film. I think there were only 3 people in the theater when I saw it and I wondered why I was there myself. I came close to walking out in the middle of the film. I now wish I had. I give the film 1 out fo 5 paws.

Until another day, another time. See ya at the movies.
