Wednesday Thoughts

Being the owner/operator/general manager of a radio station has its perks.  I do get to come and go as I please but I don’t always do that. I don’t want my staff to think I’m a slouch or anything like that.  I do arrive early in the morning to gather my thoughts  and get some things done before the day gets too crazy with people running up and down halls, in and out of my office for what ever is on their mind and about a bazillion questions running rampant on about as many topics. Okay, there’s no such thing as a bazillion but  there is a mega million and trillion. Weekend Observbations

Welcome to my weekend. After an absolutely crazy week at the studios of WDNG in Anniston, AL, I am  so glad to be at home with Mr. Gossett and my cats, Otis and Matilda.  As much as I enjoy what I do during the work week, I enjoy spending time at home even more. It gives me the opportunity to relax, think and review the previous week in order to attempt to not repeat any hiccups that may have happened the previous week.  We did have quite a bit of excitement this past week. Todd Starnes of Fox Radio News and Commentary was in the Anniston/Oxford area and we did our best to have him in studio with morning show host, Michael Dean Smith and his side kick, Andrew McLain. Long time No blog entry

It’s been a while since I last posted an entry here and I have to admit that I’ve been a crazy busy lady. For the last year and a half or more, I’ve been thrust into a position that I never expected to be in. I am the owner / operator of a small town AM radio station. Okay, the small town is the place I grew up and the radio station is the one I listened to as a little girl which makes the whole situation very unique – to say the least. I have always loved the radio business. I worked at my hometown radio station in my 20’s but didn’t pursue it for whatever reason I had back then.
